Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7

Yesterday we ventured into the fine dining of Avocado.. I found it amusing, but I don't know if Drew did, although he was curious enough to take more. I am not an avocado fan myself, but hopefully he will like it.. we'll see. Enjoy to pics and cute video of our new food adventure.

UPDATE: I heard from Leslie earlier today and they were on their way home with her step-father. He has an air cast on his foot and a neck brace.. PRAISE THE LORD it was not worse! Thank you all for your prayers!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello All! This is a little bit of a different post. I just got a call from one of my bestest friends Leslie, who is like family to me. She was my maid-of-honor in our wedding. We met many years ago at a job and have lots of history together, I even lived with her family for awhile. On to the serious part..
This evening her step-father was in a serious motorcycle accident. As I write this he is being transported to Saint Louis Hospital, which is about 2 hours from where they live. He has injury to his neck and broke his foot.. that is as much as I know right now.
Leslie's family has had a tough few weeks, as her Mom just got out of the hospital, where she was in intensive care for a few days, plus Leslie is 32 weeks pregnant.
Please pray hard for Leslie & her family. THANKS!!!
I was in the living room working the other night when I heard giggling from the bathroom. When David was giving Drew a bath they were playing with a football bath toy and for some reason it caught Drew's funny bone. The funny thing is it wasn't when David squirted water out of it, but when he squeezed the toy after the water was out.. anyhow, watch the video and my gibberish should make sense.
Hello All.. As Drew takes more naps he is turning into a different boy! He is happy for longer periods of time and is so much fun not to mention ALERT, which is the one comment we get from everyone who meets him! I find myself recharged throughout the day as I see the joy in his face. I have taken lots of pictures over the last couple of days so watch out.
Drew is not quite turning over yet, but he sooooooo wants to. This is about as far as he gets, I think we will have a Rollie Pollie soon.. First stop rolling, next crawling... Oh No, where does the time go???
Next is from my latest photo shoot practice. This poor kid is either going to hate pictures or be a natural model. I just though he looked so cute in his Denim overalls that I couldn't resist. You will be seeing the color versions... if you know me you know I turned my favorites black & white. By the way you are only seeing a couple of the 65 I took, yes 65... I know I'm crazy!!
Okay this picture is the exception because I just LOVE the black & white one. I will be looking for a contest to enter this one in.
Hello Again...yes it's me! I just have to many things to post, so you might get a little "blogged down" (ha ha ha).. On to the fun, Andrew is such a TV junkie I'm afraid to admit. It's really funny because there are shows he likes to watch like: American Idol, Dance shows, and below you will see he loves to watch Ellen, but one day I turned to Dr. Phil and he cried, go figure.
Below is a video of him watching Ellen, where she was having some audience members play the marshmallow game.
Andrew also surprised me this week by responding to me saying peek-a-boo by playing it back. He must get his brains from his daddy!! Oh and yes he is playing with a diaper... with all of his toys for some reason he likes to play with a diaper...hmmmm, such a boy!!
My Bella Pristine
Hello All! Many of you know I am a lover of Pugs.. My other favorite past time besides stamping & singing is photography (see the photo of my first baby Bella... funny huh?).
I recently entered one of my Pug photos from the last litter of puppies into a calendar contest, which raises money of Pug Rescue (SEPRA-Southeast Pug Rescue & Adoption). It costs $1 to vote which goes towards this great cause. If you don't want to vote then you just have to look at these adorable pugs.. the link is below: http://www.pugged.com/SEPRA/
The photo I entered is below... just don't want you to miss it because it is OH SO CUTE and of course in case you wanted to vote for this beauty to make it on the 2009 calendar!!
Quick update.. this has been a great week for naps. Drew is proving to be child who likes to do things on his on time schedule. Everyday this week he has taken 1 if not 2 naps during the day.. I know surprising huh?! He has been such a different baby, other than the shot day he has been pretty happy. At night we are around 8-10 hours! However, the one hang-up is he has been waking up about 1-2 hours into his nighttime sleep this week, tonight was especially rough.. it took us 2 hours to get him back down. So, I am praying he is down for the rest of the night.
On a fun note, I can't believe how fast he is learning.. we have put him in his jumperoo off and on for a couple weeks but yesterday he figured out he can jump, and rocked out. There are so many videos to choose from, so I will be posting again soon... showcasing a show he loves to watch & a game he showed me he has suprisingly learned already, you will just have to wait and see..
Today has been a tough day as Drew had his 4 month appointment. With this appointment came lots of shots. He didn't handle it well and has had a bad day off and on since. Doesn't it just break your heart when your baby is in pain?! So, Tylenol to the rescue, it seems to be helping a little...it wasn't until after he had it in his system that he finally started eating. Usually nursing fixes everything, but he was even snubbing that. I am just glad we don't have to do this again for another 2 months.
Hello All.. David and I were talking about the Bumbo seat. We love using it especially on days when Drew decides he doesn't want to nap.. I will put him in it on the kitchen counter, so I can make dinner, do the dishes, etc.. It says not to do that, but he is well supervised and loves watching me work in the kitchen, he gets his own mini cooking class and LOVES it. It is the simple things, isn't it?!
WARNING: If you are easily grossed out don't read on.. HA HA HA!!!
Now to the point of the post, this seat is great for helping Drew to sit up, however he thinks it is his pooping seat. No kidding, every time he sits in the seat for any amount of time he poops away. It just makes me giggle to myself when I look over and see that red strained face.. okay many of you will not find it as amusing.
So, I am going to call it the regulating poop seat because it has definitely helped our little man, he went from every 3 days (or more) to every other day! Well maybe the little bit of cereal is helping to, but who knows!!
I promise I am done talking about poop for now I just had to share! Happy Tuesday!
Andrew started getting a little more cranky lately and after process of elimination, we thought..hmmmm... he just might be still hungry, which means more food. We started by increasing his formula supplement, which I do along with nursing. He used to get 2 bottles, one at lunch (4oz) and another at bedtime (5 oz), so we have upped the lunch time feeding to 5oz and added a morning bottle when needed.
By the way, David and I weighed and measured our little brick, he is weighing in at 15lbs and is about 27" long... WOW!!
Okay, here is where it gets fun.. we tried cereal this past Saturday because we read it was okay starting at four months if they show signs of being interested, not to mention all the other signs, which he fits most of. Our doctor also told us at our 2-month appointment we could try it at 4 months.. IT WAS FUN!! So, he had some Saturday, but was not quite sure.. then I gave it to him again today, Monday, and he went nuts, plus I walked away wearing some since he was kicking his legs in excitement and hit the bowl. I wish I had a video, but don't so you will have to take my word for it. We are only starting it once a day for now then will gradually increase it.. messy but oh so fun! Here are some pics from Saturday.
You will notice we are feeding it to him with a spoon...we did try it in a bottle, but he did not like it, I think it was just too hard to get! This is fine with me because I would rather he associates solids with a spoon. He does like to hold his own bottle though, go figure...independent!! Doesn't he just look like he is up to something, I wonder where he gets that from.
One of my favorite parts about the Midwest is Thunder Storms. Well, I am in luck because over the past week we have had three days of thunder storms. I just love to open the windows and doors to listen. I have attached a video of the sound because it was in the wee hours of the morning so it was dark.. I just could not sleep because I just had to get up and listen...beside don't you just love the sound of rain?? I have also attached a picture of the sky after the storm.. this picture is from tonight (Monday).
Sunday Early Morning Storm (Just close your eyes and listen)
Sky Monday after storm (isn't it beautiful)
The below pics were just to funny not to share... this is Bella being a good big sister during tummy time. Sorry for the glowing eyes.. haven't fixed it yet, she is not possessed I promise.
