Evan 1 Month Stats...

Hello All! Man I am so disappointed in my lack of blogging lately, not only because of not sharing with all of you, but also because I use this as my brain. Anyhow, Evan had his belated one month appointment this past week. It was delayed a few weeks until David's new insurance kicked in. Anyhow.. here goes:

Weight: 10lbs 13oz (50%)
Height: 24" (95%)
It was funny because the doctor told me to pay no attention to the over all percentage because Evan is REALLY long... I peaked anyhow, the over all using all the numbers is .09%. His height threw everything off. As I told the doctor Evan comes from tall stock.

Smiling Boy: We saw hints of his first smile around 3 weeks, but we are now seeing it more often. This first picture was my first attempt at capturing his smile

Attempt #2

Drew being "Helpful"

Evan is a sweet and snuggly boy. He is verbalizing more and more with each passing day and is a very alert baby. When he is awake he stays that way for awhile. He is still very gassy and we are just trying to pray through it. I am praising God because so far I have not needed to supplement with formula. I prayed for during my whole pregnancy to nurse 100% and God answered my prayer!!

Drew is such a good big brother, he loves to kiss on Evan. Sometimes he is a little to helpful as he gets in his face or roughly share his cars & trucks. The sweetest thing is when Drew grabs Evan's hand when he is crying and just holds it. He also loves to give Evan his Pacifier! He is really a huge helper & good big brother!!

I wil try not be such a stranger!! Christie

UPDATED VIDEO: EVAN is ONE MONTH!

WOW, as I was looking at this blog I realized it has been a month since I posted...now that is not like me. I guess I have a few excuses:

*New Baby

*Family Visits
*LOTS of packing
*BIG MOVE...YES we are in DALLAS and trying our best to settle in.

So, I would say those are some good excuses for being a little behind. Anyhow, Evan is growing so fast, I just can't believe it has been a month! He is really starting to Coo, which I love and we are seeing his sweet little smile more and more. Evan is a great sleeper, which he has been since birth. He is like Drew in the sense that he likes to be part of everything, so sometimes it is a little tough to get him to sleep, but once he is there it is ALL GOOD. Evan is much more of a snuggler than Drew was, which I LOVE!!

Evan is very strong and tried to hold up even before we left the hospital, he now holds it up with no problem! I do have to say Evan is such a gassy boy, so those moments can be tough, but if that is all then I think we are okay. Enjoy some fun pics & videos!!

Speaking of Drew he is a GREAT big brother, he is always kissing and snuggling with Evan. I do have to say his sweet is sometimes TOOO SWEET.

PRESENTING.... Evan Michael

Hello Everyone, I am slowly getting back to the land of the living. As I write this I am looking at our newest addition and admiring how amazing our God is to create something so perfect. Our little sweetie was born on April 9, 2010 at 4:47 PM. He weighed in at 7lbs 14oz and was 20 1/2" long.

God has truly blessed me with wonderful pregnancies and births. I went into my doctor's appointment at 10:15 for an ultrasound (because I was 6 days overdue) where they discovered I only had one pocket of fluid left, which called for an immediate induction. When my doc checked me I was dilated to a "good" 3 and 70% effaced. So, I knew the induction was going to go well. There were some concerns about the fluid, but they proved not to be a problem in labor. My doctor broke my water at 2:45pm and just 2 hours and 2min's later we welcomed Evan. Labor was VERY quick and drug free, which I praise God for.

Evan is now just under 2 weeks old, which is crazy. He is a very content little man and has been a sleeper from the get go. He is already sleeping 6 hours straight at night and takes a couple great naps during the day. It is sooo nice especially since Drew cried for 4 months straight, or so it seemed.

So, all I can say is God is good....ALL THE TIME!

Grandma & Grandpa Hagerhjelm came to welcome Evan
The best doctor: Dr Biest
Leslie came up from Carbondale to share in Evan's Birthday

My Sherree... she came to welcome Evan into the world. She is like a Mom to me!

Jamie...such a blessing to us! She took care of Drew for us!

STILL WAITING....

Well, little Evan is proving to be as stubborn as his brother was. We are now a few days past my due date and no little boy has arrived. My next appointment is on Friday, but join us in praying that he comes on his own before then!

So, in the mean time here are some fun pics of Drew from our church's Easter Egg Hunt last Saturday.

Cute Little Girl who had the same Easter Basket as Drew...

We had a little freak out about the dirt...

Sweet Maci... You will see they switched baskets. Drew filled his in no time, so he then took on Maci's and filled hers to... he was not messing around!!
I couldn't resist the box of eggs...

Isn't Maci a beauty??

I was so excited to get a surprise visit from one of my best friends Courtney & her youngest Maci. I was in shock when she walked through my door last week. Thanks James for helping with the surprise it totally made my weekend. I just wish Evan would have decided to make an appearance during her visit!

HAPPY EASTER!!

Happy Easter Everyone!

This is one of the most special days of the year as we reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made for us and celebrate him raising from the dead! This is also my official due date and as of right now... NO EVAN. I still have high hopes he will be here before Courtney leaves (who by the way flew in to surprise me). I am not big on remedies to put you into labor, but even I drank two STRONG glasses of Raspberry tea last night, NO LUCK! Although I know God can do anything!
In the meantime as we wait for this little guy, enjoy some cute pics of Drew's Easter morning fun!!

Bubble Blowing Fun!

Drew has reminded us OFTEN that the bubbles are on top the cabinet. He LOVES bubbles! So, the first opportunity we had to go outside and play in this wonderful weather we grabbed a container and went for it. To my surprise he knew how to open it and do it himself.

Hmmmm, it is amazing what kids remember. We had fun for about 10 min, until he dumped the container out all over the yard.. LOL!!

I had to add this last picture because this is SOOOO ME! I have done this since I was a little girl.. you guess it, sticking my tongue out. I do it when I am concentrating hard on something, so I think it is funny that Drew also does it.

MONEY SAVING MANIA!!

Well I haven't done very well with documenting my money savings. A while ago I began a challenge to myself and sharing with all of you my money saving adventures. 2010 is going GREAT!! We are still enjoying our Financial Peace University class at church and we are learning more ways everyday on how to save money. My fun is in couponing!! Don't get me wrong there is a lot to it, but it is worth every moment! Here is my fun for today:

CVS (My new favorite store):
TOTAL SPENT: $12.98
TOTAL SAVED: $32.44
**Plus, I still have $5 in Rewards yet to use...Whoo Hoo!! By the way all of the shampoo & conditioner in this pictures was FREE, that is 4 bottles of shampoo & 3 bottles of conditioner.

WALGREENSSPENT: $11.68
SAVED: $24.54

*The best thing about this purchase is I will be getting an additiona $5 back due to a rebate for the ziploc bags. So, technically I will have spent only $5.68.

TARGET:SPENT: $8.42 - SAVED: $13.79

*Yes you are seeing this picture correctly there is a NEW pillow and two beach towels, with the other goodies! Whoo Hoo!!

So, overall for the whole day, which does not include the rebate or rewards dollars not spent I only spent $33.08 & saved a total of $70.77 for 39 items. Now this is just one day! Alot of these are stock items because I already cooked ahead and stocked the cupboards earlier in the month to prepare for baby! By the way I am at a 65% savings for the month of March!!!

I am still learning, but having fun doing it! It is fun to get good deals and even more fun to get FREE stuff!!

38 1/2 WEEKS... NOT MUCH LONGER!

Time is fading fast, but I think we are pretty well ready for little Evan's arrival. I had a doctor's appt yesterday, which came with my first check. The good news is I am dilated to "ONE" and 50% effaced. For those of you who don't know this is GOOD news. This makes me a prime subject for induction if needed.

I am blessed as I am not feeling the pressure I did with Drew, but I can tell this little guy is LOW. Other than that I still feel great and I am so thankful! I do get tired quickly, but I steal a nap whenever possible.

Enjoy a couple pics from my attempt at a maternity photo shoot! It was a chilly day and I was trying to snap fast. I still got a couple of good ones!
